Do
I need travel insurance?
Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
If you are unable to fly for any reason
your travel insurance should cover
this eventuality. Rasi carries comprehensive
charter insurance but this will not
cover the very unlikely event of personal
injury due to snorkeling, swimming,
hiking or any other such activity
partaken whilst on your vacation.
What
is your cancellation policy?
A cancellation4 weeks prior to charter
date will result in a refund of the
deposit minus 20% admin fee. After
this time the deposit becomes non
refundable. We recommend that you
purchase travel insurance 4 weeks
prior to departure so that you will
be covered in the unlikely event that
you must cancel your charter.
Do
I need a visa for the Grenadines?
You do not need a visa to enter St
Vincent & the Grenadines. You
must have a passport valid for the
duration of your stay.
What
is the best way to get to the Grenadines?
The Grenadines are a little more difficult
to get to than traditional vacation
destinations. This is one of the reasons
that they are so attractive as they
are not over developed. The best way
to get here is via Barbados, Puerto
Rico, Grenada or St Lucia. Find out
more by visiting our
travel page.
What
will the weather be like?
The weather is mostly very nice in
this part of the Caribbean. Temperatures
range from 70-85 degrees year round.
The warmest months are July and August
(great sailing though). The trade
winds blow Dec through Feb. June is
generally the wettest month (tropical
showers). The Grenadines are below
the traditional hurricane belt so
are unaffected by adverse weather
conditions.
How
long is the sail time between Islands?
Sailing time between islands are approx
1-3 hours in duration these times
do vary due to wind strength and prevailing
currents. . As it is your charter
you can choose to sail as little or
as much as you like.
Can
you arrange diving for me?
The Grenadines offer some of the best
diving in the Caribbean for expert
and novice alike. Diving can be arranged
by your skipper at all destinations.
A typical dive including equipment
costs US$60. It does not need to be
arranged in advance and can be booked
on the day or the day before.
What
can I expect from the crew?
You can expect an expert sailing team
with years of charter experience.
Rasi is skippered by her owner so
they go that extra mile to ensure
your vacation is one of a lifetime.
You will have all of your food prepared
for you and every need catered for.
The many years of chartering these
waters gives your crew the inside
knowledge of what to see and where
to go. You can be assured that at
all times your privacy will be of
utmost concern and the crew know when
to be there and when not to.
Do
I have to know how to sail?
One of the benefits of a crewed charter
is that the skipper is there to do
all of the work!! Of course you are
more than willing to sail if you are
experienced or try for the first time
under the skippers tutelage. As a
prerequisite you do not need to be
able to sail - you can sit back and
relax or get involved as much as you
would like.
Will
there be anyone else aboard the yacht?
No it will be your own private yacht.
The only other people aboard will
be the skipper and cook who at all
times will respect your privacy.
Can I change
the itinerary?
Absolutely - if you like an island
and want to stay longer or would like
to visit specific locations you are
the boss. There are time and sailing
limitations that the skipper will
advise you of when changing the itinerary
- not all changes are possible because
of these. Your crew will also ne able
to offer there advice and make recommendations
based on you preferences as they have
many years experience in the Grenadines.
Are
children welcome?
Children are always welcome. Your
charter yacht however does not provide
flotation devices for children so
it would be wise to bring water wings,
inflatable vests etc. with you on
your trip.
What
should I pack?
Make sure you bring lots of sunscreen
- and not many clothes - you will
most likely live in your swimsuits.
A few casual outfits (shorts/t-shirt)
would be appropriate for dinging out.
The Grenadines are very casual and
have no strict dress codes.
